What is EIM?
EIM (Environmental Impact Measurement) is a unique and powerful platform that measures the environmental impact of a finishing formula. It is an assessment tool aimed to improve environmental performance of garment finishing at the manufacturing stage. EIM analyzes four categories, water, and energy consumption as well as the chemical and worker impact. EIM provides tailored benchmarks for denim, garment wash and garment dyeing.
Objective of Verification Programme
EIM scores are based on self-reporting by factories to assess their environmental impact. Following the industry’s need towards data verification and transparency, the EIM verification program was developed.
The EIM verification program adds further credibility to the work done by processing facilities, by confirming the integrity of the data.
Approach
The verification program is unique in its holistic approach, looking at the facility from both a management system perspective and an overall facility perspective. That way, it can be determined whether the facility is competent in generating self-declared EIM scores using correct data. It can also be assessed whether they are able to follow up with corrective actions when discrepancies arise.

Evaluation in the impact performance of overall orders as EIM data entry accuracy.
Scope 2 - EIM Management System
Evaluation of management systems in place for managing and ensuring integrity of EIM data
Scope 3 - Facility Assurance Factor
Evaluation of overall facility and EMS risks
Scores and Certificate
Star Rating:
After the evaluation of the three scopes, a total score will be generated, providing the verified facility with a star rating out of 5.
Certificate:
Based on the number of Stars, a certificate may be rewarded. Qualifying facilities are rewarded with a Gold or Silver certificate. This certificate can be shared with key stakeholders to proof the integrity of EIM scores.

Certificate
All qualifying facilities will receive an official certificate after the verification. This can be shared and communicated with customers and key stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement
All participants will receive a handbook on how to improve their facility’s score. All reports generated will include detailed feedback on their assessments to enable continuous improvement.
Results can be used for all customers
Factories can use the results of their verification to showcase their performance to all of their customers.
